Good quality tuners- 41mm nut plays 4mm(from the fret board not the top of the fret) at the 12th with no string buzz. Neck is really good- next to no fretware and plays well. One or two tiny marks on it-worst is on top of headstock. And really bright but balanced thru the pick up and a good clean amp. Countryman guitar by HOHNER with an aftermarket pick up professionally installed. more on eBay NO RESERVE- will be sold to highest bidder- please just place a bid.

Like I said, this post is just me thinking out loud. The former (selling it) would be simpler, but the guitar is a beauty, and sounds so sweet and has great sustain. If the latter, I could see spending hundreds of dollars, which is about what I've got into it. I go back and forth over selling it or investing in it. I'm really frustrated, with myself as much as anyone/anything.

So now I'm trying to figure out if it's worth the time and money to repair/replace the nut, lower the action and add electronics, and if so, what system. Well, it had the issue with the nut that I didn't detect right away (because the action was high and it didn't get as much play). He offered it to me for $300, and I went for it. Then the next day the owner called me and apologetically told me that his salesman made a mistake, that they only had the DR-550 left (no cutaway, no electronics). I contacted them, confirmed that they did, gave them my card information and bought it. I can't remember if I told that story, but I found a store in Misouri with an online presence that claimed they had the DR-550CE. My beloved old G-940 plays just so sweetly, but of course is not an acoustic/electric. I'm just thinking out loud here, fellas, but I trying to work through the best option given the current status of my two Hohners. But please, dear Lord, don't let it come to that! If times get worse, I can of course make do with what I've got, and if it came to it, I could pare down to just one (shudder! ) guitar (my Hohner G-940, of course). I don't have a classical, or a 12-string, a resonator, etc. But I don't have a guitar for everything I want to do or try.

So for the most part, every spare $20 I get goes to guitars and gear.Р”Р„nd yes, I do have a modest collection of guitars (9 at present). Okay, I'm also a bibliophile, but over the last 20 years I've amassed an impressive amount of books, and mostly at discount/used prices. I'm not into clothes from my childhood years to now, I pretty much just wear roper boots, jeans and T-shirts.

And I don't do much fishin' anymore, even though I live in a coastal town, so I don't throw any Jacksons toward those interests.

There are 8 Arbor series models listed (on page 13), and in the Model Name column, each model # (HG-905, HG-905L, HG-910, HG-912, HG-920, HG-930, HG-940, HG-950) is followed by the words 'Arbor Wood Series.' The HG-310 was built in the same time frame as the guitars in the Arbor series, but was not a part of that series. That description does not match up with the Acoustic categorization, so the description has to be in error.Р”Р„t any rate, the dates for the HG-310, like most of the acoustic HG-models, have the same production dates: 1978-1985. But then in the description column, it says 'Body Construction: Semi-Hollow (Chambered).'

In the Years from-to column, the dates are 1978-1985, the same production years as the guitars in the Arbor series. The different columns of information include Category, Model Name, Year from-to, Description and Former Retail Price.Р”Р‡or the HG-310, it is listed as Acoustic in the Category column. The information is laid out as a chart in grid fashion. And I think the information is partially wrong. On page 12, it has only one entry for an HG-310.
